Bankhead Pit marked on OS 6" map, 1859, SE of Crosshill farm at the end of what is now Bankhead Road, SW of Rutherglen.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: In 1859, Bankhead was outwith the Parliamentary and Municipal boundaries of Glasgow. The boundaries have since been expanded.
